Holy Communion, which celebrates the gift of God’s grace in our lives, is usually celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Glenwood, like all United Methodist congregations, celebrates Holy Communion with an open table. ALL, who desire communion, are welcome to participate.
The celebration of Holy Baptism recognizes that God’s grace is active and alive in one’s life. For adults it is a time of repenting and being made new through water and God’s Spirit. For children it is a recognition that God’s grace is working in the child’s life even before they are aware of that, and the church and parents covenant together to raise the child to experience God’s grace for themselves as they get older.
A formal time of decision making for the child, comes later in their life through a process called confirmation, in which they confirm for themselves Jesus’ lordship of their life.
